Position description

The Department of City and Regional Planning (DCRP) at the University of California, Berkeley, seeks applications for a faculty position in Housing and Urban Development at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor with an expected start date of July 1, 2015.

The ideal candidate will have teaching and research interests that are highly relevant to housing and urban development. We are particularly interested in candidates who have strong research and teaching portfolios in areas such as the design of residential and mixed use districts; international housing and land markets, formal and informal; effects of land use regulation on urban design and development; innovations in infill housing; interrelationships of infrastructure and urban development; and the interaction of land and housing markets, public finance, and governance in the US and internationally. Expertise in qualitative or quantitative research methods and experience using digital technologies for design, analysis and visualization are highly desirable. The successful candidate must have the vision and drive to chart new intellectual territory and attract externally-funded research, and must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence.

Basic Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Planning or related field at time of application.
