The current full-time salary range for this position is $70,977 to $120,835. Starting salary will be based on past college-level teaching experience.

Position description
The Department of Art Practice at the University of California, Berkeley, invites applications for a pool of temporary lecturers to teach studio courses, including but not limited to ceramics, printmaking, drawing, photography, painting, sculpture, video, foundations of visual thinking, and seminars in contemporary global art. Some of these courses are offered in summer sessions only.
Duties include teaching a studio and/or lecture course (or courses), advising enrolled students, and holding a regular office hour. A Lecturer helps students build conceptual and critical foundations, and practical studio skills that focus on materials, methods, form, content, history, and process.
Summer Sessions courses meet for a total of 16 hours per week (usually 4 hours x 4 days a week) for 6 weeks. Academic Year courses meet for 6 hours of lecture per week (3 hours x 2 days a week).
UC Lecturers are academic appointees in an organized bargaining unit and are exclusively represented by the American Federation of Teachers - Unit 18.

Qualifications
Advanced degree, or current enrollment in an advanced degree program
Advanced degree.
MFA (or equivalent international degree). Outstanding oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and teaching and exhibition experience.
