Salary range: Assistant Professor - The current salary range for this position is $103,700–$151,600 (9-month academic year salary); however, off-scale salary and other components of pay, which would yield compensation that is higher than this range, are offered to meet competitive conditions. Associate Professor/Full Professor - The current salary range for this position is $124,800 - $246,900 (9-month academic year salary); however, off-scale salary and other components of pay, which would yield compensation that is higher than this range, are offered to meet competitive conditions.
Anticipated start: July 1, 2025, or a later, mutually agreed-upon date.

Position description

The College of Engineering, University of California, Berkeley, seeks candidates for a tenure track or tenured (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) position. The College seeks candidates with expertise in the area of Aerospace Engineering. The successful candidate would conduct research and teach undergraduate courses in sustainable propulsion, materials under extreme conditions, astrodynamics, dynamics/controls of space structures, hypersonics, eVTOL infrastructure, or other areas of contemporary interest in aerospace engineering. The successful candidate would be offered the opportunity to formally affiliate with one or more of the existing academic departments in the College of Engineering, commensurate with their area of technical expertise.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Applicants must have a PhD (or equivalent international degree), or be enrolled in a PhD-granting program (or equivalent international degree) at the time of application.
