The Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for one or more ladder rank faculty positions at the ranks of Full, Associate, or Assistant Professor, with an expected start date of July 1, 2019. Candidates in all areas of pure and applied mathematics are encouraged to apply. Professorships and Associate Professorships carry tenure, and Assistant Professor positions are regarded as tenure-track.

Basic Qualifications:
Applicants must have a PhD (or equivalent international degree) at the time of application.

Preferred Qualifications:
Tenure-track applicants are expected to have demonstrated research potential; tenured applicants should have established research accomplishments. Serious consideration will be given to the candidate’s potential for success in mentoring PhD students, the candidate’s record in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and evidence of effective leadership. Serious consideration will be given to professional service, including service promoting access to, and diversity in, higher education and the academic profession. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

• List of publications
• Research statement
• Teaching documentation (ex. teaching letter, student evaluations)
• Professional Service Statement (optional) (including service promoting access to and diversity in higher education and the academic profession)
• Tenure-track only: Ask minimum three reviewers to submit letters of evaluation through AP Recruit. Applicants should ensure letters of evaluation are posted by the application deadline.
• Tenured only: Provide names and contact information for four people who are familiar with the candidate’s scholarly work. The department will solicit letters of recommendation for tenured positions only for candidates under serious consideration. Candidates will be notified before department contacts anyone on the candidate's list.
