Areas of a particular specialization have open positions throughout the year based upon classroom, online, and Berkeley Summer Sessions instructional schedules that are either per semester, 6-8 weeks online course, or per session in the summer. The positions are part-time, but often range from 17% to 33% work effort per month, except for Berkeley Summer Sessions, which is usually paid on a by-agreement basis.

The Lecturer Pool will remain open until February 28, 2019 to accommodate the School instructional needs. When an instructional need arises, applications for regular classroom instruction for the fall semester are reviewed during April/May and for the spring semester, October/November; online instructional need reviews applications monthly, and Berkeley Summer Sessions application review will occur in March/April. To receive full consideration for any openings, please submit a complete application. Only completed applications will be reviewed in designated specializations as openings arise. Candidates under consideration will be contacted by the hiring team.

General duties:
In addition to teaching responsibilities, duties include developing and/or preparing course materials (e.g. syllabus, online course site and videos for OOMPH), holding office or discussion hours, assessing student work and assigning grades, advising students, responding to email, maintaining a course website.

Minimum/Basic qualifications required: By the application date, Master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree in public health or related field.

Preferred qualifications: PhD or equivalent degree in public health or related field; public health professional work experience in the designated specialization; and/or college-level teaching experience desired.
