The Graduate School of Education (GSE) is generating an applicant pool of qualified, temporary, part-time non-tenure track lecturers to teach in its undergraduate minor programs for the 2017-2018 academic year. Screening of applicants begins immediately and continues as needed. Applicants will be selected from this pool for one year; some appointments begin in the fall semester and others in the spring semester. The number of positions varies from semester to semester and may be renewed based on need and performance. Successful applicants may have an opportunity to teach in our Summer Sessions course offerings.

Teaching Responsibilities: We are seeking outstanding lecturers who can teach/co-teach courses in the school’s undergraduate education minor and supervise studies in field studies placements. Courses taught online and/or in person. Courses may include the following:
• Critical Studies in Education
• Education Practicum
• Research in Education
• Urban Education
• Restorative Justice Practices in Education

General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, and preparing course materials.

Basic Qualifications (by the time of application): Masters degree or equivalent degree in education or related field.

Additional Qualifications (by start date): The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience teaching or in an online platform, in the subject matter or related field and with diverse populations. This should be explicit in the vitae.

Salary: These are academic year appointments and subject to the normal processes of academic review. Salary is commensurate with experience but typically begins at $56,106 and prorated in accordance to instructional workload calculation.
