Position description

The Department of History at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a full-time faculty appointment, open rank, in the History of the Modern Middle East/Arab World, with an expected start date of July 1, 2018.

The search is open to scholars of all regions and thematic interests in Modern Middle East history, with an emphasis on the history of the Arabic-speaking world.

Basic Minimum Qualifications: Completion of all Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree requirements except the dissertation at the time of application.

Additional Qualifications: A Ph.D. or equivalent degree is required by date of hire.
