The Coleman Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach engineering management topics in the Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) program should an opening arise. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the institute.
The M.Eng. program offers coursework in technology innovation and management. We hire a number of qualified professionals and academics to hold temporary lecturer appointments to lend variety and subject matter expertise to our core engineering leadership topics:
Accounting & Finance
Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurial Finance
Marketing and Product Management Organizational Behavior and Negotiations Project Management and Teaming
R&D Technology Management
Position Description: Lecturers teach short courses consisting of 10-15 contact hours, on one of more topic areas listed above. Lecturers are responsible for the course syllabus: curriculum development and delivery, student assessment through relevant projects, problem sets, tests and/or class attendance and participation, and grades.
Salaries typically range from $3,500 to $21,000 per semester, depending on the number of sections taught and the length of the course.
Basic qualifications (by time of application): Experience teaching college or graduate students. Applicants must hold either a masters degree or degree equivalent at the time of application, or industry leadership experience in a related area of expertise; demonstrated by 2 or more years at management or executive level.
Preferred qualifications: Experience teaching graduate-level business and management topics to engineers preferred.
