The problem becomes more critical when multiple data owners are involved. This project is working to design and build a distributed platform to enable collaborative data analysis using different data sources and computation resources while being confined with the specified security policies. We are primarily interested in designing and developing the techniques and the platform, including the policy language and the computation scheduling system.

Responsibilities
70% Develop research software built on top of the Apache Spark for secure collaborative data analytics. This requires an understanding of information flow system, Apache Spark as well as the Scala programming language. Research topics of interest include policy language design and restricted optimizing scheduler design.

20% Coordinate with our collaborators and users to ensure the systems we’re building have the features and performance characteristics that are needed.

10% Work with the infrastructure and testing teams to ensure that end-to-end performance and concordance tests are working well and providing the metrics needed to monitor software development progress.
