Position description

The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at the University of California, Berkeley is accepting applications for qualified temporary part- time instructors to teach one upper-level undergraduate course on “Contemporary Tibet” in Spring 2016. Typically, the percentage of an appointment to teach one course would be 33%.

Minimum full-time annual salary rate is $49,012, salary commensurate with experience. Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): teaching one semester-long course, holding office hours, assigning grades, preparing course materials, maintaining a course website, and compiling teaching materials.

Minimum Basic Qualifications: PhD or equivalent in Tibetan Studies or a related field by the time of application. Additional Qualifications (by start date): Good command of English.
