Position description

The Department of Demography at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a tenure-track assistant professor with an expected start date of July 1, 2015. The position is not restricted by subfield and applicants with interdisciplinary interests are encouraged. The position’s duties include: academic research and publications, undergraduate and graduate teaching, and administrative service. The department is interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through their teaching, research, and service.

At the time of application, candidates must have completed all PhD or equivalent degree requirements except the dissertation. We welcome degrees in demography as well as related fields, including but not limited to sociology, statistics, history, economics, and population biology. The PhD or equivalent is required within one year of employment. Those holding the current rank of assistant professor are also encouraged to apply.
