Position description

The English Department at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a position as a full time Assistant Professor specializing in 20th-21st Century British Literature. The expected start date is July 1, 2015. We welcome all critical approaches, including transnational and comparative. Basic qualifications: Applicants must have completed all Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree requirements except the dissertation by the time of application.

Additional qualifications: We seek a research-oriented candidate with a demonstrated ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in 20th-21st Century English literature. Applicants must have a well-defined, original program of research on-going and present demonstrated excellence in classroom teaching.

The successful candidate must possess a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in English or a related field by the time of employment.
