Position Description:

The Charles and Louise Travers Department of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley (http://polisci.berkeley.edu) invites applications for a tenure- track Assistant Professor in comparative politics with an expected start date of July 1, 2015. We seek candidates whose work in comparative politics or comparative political economy uses formal models and/or data science to open up new areas of inquiry or reinvigorate scholarship on traditional substantive topics. We are particularly interested in technically well-trained scholars who focus on formal modeling, cutting-edge field and data collection methods, novel computational or statistical methods, and/or strong research designs in their substantive work. Applicants must have completed all degree requirements for Ph.D or equivalent degree with the exception of the dissertation at the time of application. Ph.D or equivalent degree must be completed within one year of start date. Applications must be submitted by October 10, 2014 to be eligible for consideration.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
