Position description
The Department of Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB) and Division of Immunology and Molecular Medicine at the University of California, Berkeley (UCB) invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. The expected start date is July 1, 2025.
We seek applicants studying fundamental aspects of immune system function. Areas of interest include (but are not limited to) innate immunity, inflammation, B cell biology, T cell biology, mucosal immunity, type 2 immunity, immunometabolism, neuroimmunology, cancer immunology, host-microbe interactions, microbial pathogenesis, autoimmunity, and comparative and systems immunology.
Candidates should demonstrate excellence, originality and productivity in research, an interest in undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring, and a commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout research, mentorship, teaching and service.

Qualifications
A Ph.D. and/or M.D. or equivalent international degree at the time of application.
A Ph.D. and/or M.D. or equivalent international degree in Biology or a related field by the start date.

Statement of your understanding of barriers to success in education and research for groups underrepresented in STEM - Statements can include a description of any past efforts you have undertaken to address these issues and/or your future plans to promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment through your teaching, research, and service at Berkeley. This should be approximately 500 words.
Statement of teaching - Statement of your teaching interests as well as any prior teaching and mentoring experience in approximately 500 words.
