Salary range: The annual salary is commensurate with experience, but typically begins at $94,000.
Percent time: 100%
Anticipated start: This position will begin as soon as a candidates is identified and the search is complete.
Position duration: The initial appointment will be for one year with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

Position description

The Berkeley School of Education (BSE) at the University of California, Berkeley is recruiting for two Coordinator of Public Programs positions as part of BSE's Leadership Programs. One position will serve as coordinator for the Principal Leadership Institute (PLI), under the supervision of PLI Director, Dr. Soraya Sablo Sutton. One position will serve as coordinator for the 21CSLA Regional Academy under the supervision of Leadership Programs Director, Dr. Rebecca Cheung. We are seeking outstanding educational leaders who can help develop and oversee innovative projects aimed at supporting the professional learning of practicing education professionals, from teacher leaders to system leaders. General Duties: Coordinators of Public Programs will design, implement, and oversee the BSE Leadership Programs' offerings for practicing educational leaders. They will participate with the stakeholders including state offices, district offices, international clients and the public to develop outreach and support programs in meeting targeted goals, including outreach to underrepresented communities.

Coordinators will be responsible for supervising professional and operational staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students to implement outreach activities, and will work closely with other Leadership Programs staff in delivering high-quality services to eligible program participants. Their duties may include but are not limited to:

• Designing, leading, planning, implementing, and evaluating University programs of classes, conferences, institutes and seminars, discussion groups, exhibits, lectures and teaching materials;
• Extending the intellectual resources of the University to address education issues at all levels from pre-school through graduate students and their teachers and leaders in both formal and out-of-school settings, through engagement and collaboration;
• Participating with academic and community partners in developing programs focused explicitly on increasing opportunities and also increasing access to opportunities for underrepresented and under-resourced communities.
• Development of fiscally sustainable revenue models and revenue generation practices.
• Grant writing to sustain outreach efforts.

These are fiscal-year appointments and subject to the normal processes of academic review .

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Masters Degree or equivalent international degree.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

Active and Valid CA Administrative Services Credential. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years professional experience in public education settings, and at least three years of professional experience in supervising staff. Experience in K-12 education & experience with fiscal management and/or grant writing.

Preferred qualifications
