Position overview

Salary range: Starting salary is commensurate with the highest degree, teaching experience, and equity within the Department.
Percent time: 11%-100%, depending on assigned courses and teaching responsibilities.
Anticipated start: Positions usually start in January, various times throughout the summer and August. Applications are typically reviewed for summer session course needs in April, fall course needs in May, and in November for spring course needs.

Position description

The Department of Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning (LAEP) at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers to teach courses, should an opening arise, in the following areas such as (but not limited to): landscape architecture, environmental planning, and science, plants, construction/grading, history & theory of landscape architecture, and GIS. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from semester to semester (fall, spring, and summer), depending upon the needs of the Department.

General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and using Cal’s electronic resources for course management.

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Advanced degree (or equivalent international degree) at time of application.

Preferred qualifications

Advanced degree; a Master’s degree (or equivalent international degree) in Landscape Architecture or related field at the time of application.
