Position title: Associate SpecialistPosition description
An Associate Specialist position is open in the Whiteman Laboratory at UC-Berkeley. Under the general supervision of Professor Whiteman, this position will lead projects that use and develop genome editing tools in drosophilids flies, including Scaptomyza species which lay their eggs in leaves. In addition, this position will help lead experiments in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, genomics, and Drosophila chemosensory neurophysiology.

Qualifications
Master's degree or PhD (or international equivalent degree) at the time of application.
At least 2 years of experience in a research lab.
Experience in applying genome editing technology in arthropod species, experience in basic biochemistry, genetics, genomics, molecular biology techniques, and Drosophila neurophysiology techniques (e.g., electroantennography, single sensillum recording).
