Position description

The Department of Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning (LAEP) at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary, part-time lecturers to teach courses, should an opening arise, in the following areas such as (but not limited to): landscape architecture, environmental planning and science, plants, construction/grading, history & theory of landscape architecture, and GIS. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from semester to semester (fall, spring, and summer), depending upon the needs of the Department. Semester positions range from 11% to 67% and typically start at the beginning of the semester. Starting salary is commensurate with highest degree, teaching experience, and equity within the Department. This pool will remain open until November 5, 2021, to accommodate upcoming department needs. Those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that date will need to reapply.

General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and using Cal’s electronic resources for course management.

Basic qualifications: Bachelor degree (or equivalent international degree) at the time of application.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree; minimally a Master’s degree (or equivalent international degree) in Landscape Architecture or related field at time of application.
