Position description

The Physics Department at the University of California, Berkeley is conducting an open search to fill a tenure-track faculty position for an Assistant Professor in Experimental Atomic, Molecular, and Optical (AMO) Physics, Experimental Biophysics, or Experimental Condensed Matter Physics with an expected start date of July 1, 2019.

The basic qualification required to be considered an applicant is a PhD (or equivalent international degree) or enrollment in a PhD (or equivalent international degree) granting program at the time of application.

Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated originality and productivity in research, promise in teaching, and the potential to advance the physics department’s goal of a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive scholarly environment.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
